Lancaster, PA Seminar: Change of Plans

A statement from A Better Way.

As our supporters and followers know, A Better Way has been working hard to plan a seminar with Safe Communities and Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community.

While our Christian principles are very important to us, A Better Way’s primary criteria for choosing speakers who will be addressing technical, non-theological topics at our events is to find speakers who are qualified in their field. We look for experts who can provide our attendees with information that is accurate and focused on child safety.

When we were nearly ready to open registration last week, Weaverland informed A Better Way that, although choosing quality speakers was important, they also wanted our speakers to align with their church’s core values.

Because that requirement had not been shared previously, not all of our speakers shared Weaverland’s values. As a result, we regret to inform you that Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community has officially withdrawn from hosting the April 29 and 30 conference in Lancaster Co, PA.

Thank you for understanding that our focus is still on making sure we can provide this seminar’s much needed information to Lancaster County and beyond, if at all possible.

We need a new venue and are actively engaged in finding one. There may be some changes in speakers and topics based on the space available in a new venue, but we will do our best to accommodate as much good teaching as possible.

A Better Way will continue to keep you updated as we have new information. Your support at this time is appreciated. If you have ideas for venues, know possible donors to offset costs, wish to volunteer, or want to help in other ways, please let us know! We are still very hopeful we will see you in April, so continue to save the same dates.
